Game Concept: The NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series Fantasy League is a game of skill, and winners will be determined by the objective criteria set forth herein. From all eligible entries received, winners will be determined by the participant who uses his or her knowledge of the historical events surrounding NHRA POWERade Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock and Pro Stock Bike racing, including relative strengths and weaknesses, to accumulate the most points during the game terms as defined below. Games may not be used in any form of gambling.
Eligibility: NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series Fantasy League participants must be 18 years of age or older as of February 8, 2008, and must be legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia. All employees and immediate family members of the CSK Auto, Inc. including the sponsors, advertising, production, and fulfillment agencies are not eligible for prizes. CSK Auto, Inc. reserves the right to disqualify any entry form that is incomplete or incorrect. Prize winners must have a valid, unblocked email address. Only one entry per person; players must have valid, unrestricted email address. Void where prohibited or restricted by law. Those excluded based on residence criteria may play, but WILL NOT be eligible to receive any prizes and/or be designated the winner of any round, quarter or championship; players found to be ineligible to win prizes will be dismissed from game results and prizes will be awarded to the eligible player with the highest points per prize category.
How to Play: The game will follow the actual race results in the following NHRA POWERade Drag Racing classes:
• Top Fuel
• Funny Car
• Pro Stock
• Pro Stock Bike
Players will register the names of eight NHRA POWERade Pro class drivers, at least one driver per class, for all 24 national events and be awarded points according to actual race results. The player with the most points after each national event is a “Top Dawg” winner; prizes will be awarded to the top three players in scoring.
The NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series Fantasy League is divided into quarters. The top players from the First, Second, and Third quarter games will be eligible to play in the Fourth Quarter Race for the Countdown Championship. All scores are zeroed at the end of each quarter, and players can win weekly prizes and quarterly prizes.
Players become eligible to compete in the Fourth Quarter Race for the Countdown by scoring a top ten weekly result in the First, Second, or Third Quarter games. After the completion of the Third Quarter game, all players that finished in the top ten in scoring after any national event are automatically registered in the Fourth Quarter Championship game. Players who do not qualify for the Race for the Countdown are still eligible to play for weekly and quarterly prizes in the fourth quarter.
Weekly Entry Deadlines: Players can change their picks at anytime up to 9:00 AM MST (Arizona) on the Friday before each 2008 national event weekend. At 9:00 AM MST on the Friday before each national, the site changes to show the player's confirmed picks for that weekend's race(s) and allow players to select drivers for the next national event.
The Points System: Player's drivers will earn points according to the same scoring system as the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series. Each Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock and Pro Stock Bike winner receives 100 points, the runner-up receives 80 points, the third round losers receive 60 points, the second round losers receive 40 points, and the first round losers receives 30 points. Qualifying points are also awarded; the fastest qualifier receives 8 points, the second-fastest qualifier receives 7 points, the third-fastest qualifier receives 6 points, the fourth-fastest qualifier receives 5 points; the fifth and sixth-fastest qualifiers receives 4 points, the seventh and eighth-fastest qualifiers receives 3 points, the ninth-through-twelfth fastest qualifiers receives 2 points, and the thirteenth through sixteenth-fastest qualifiers receives 1 point. Drivers also earn points for qualifying attempts and officially recognized national records. As opposed to official NHRA rules, points will not be deducted for oil-downs.
Odds of Winning: Chances of winning weekly and championship prizes depend upon the total number of entries received and the skill used in choosing drivers.
Prizes: Prizes will be awarded on a national event, end-of-quarter and end-of-season basis. NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series Fantasy League Top Dawg national event prizes will be awarded to the top three point scoring teams in each week. One prize per week per category; a tie-breaking system will determine a winner in case of duplicate scores or pick results. First-round tiebreaker will be awarded to the participant with the earliest registration date and time. Top Dawg weekly prizes will be awarded for all 24 scheduled 2008 NHRA national events. Prizes will be awarded to the three entrants that accumulate the most points for each of the four NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series Fantasy League quarterly games. Prizes are not transferable and must be accepted as awarded, no cash equivalents, no substitutes, except as determined by CSK Auto, Inc. in its sole discretion. Winners must be domiciled residents of the United States to be eligible for prizes. All winners automatically grant to CSK Auto, Inc. the right to use their name, address and photo for publicity without compensation. Any and all federal, state, and local taxes in connection with the prizes are the sole responsibility of the winners. All costs and expenses not specified herein related to the acceptance and use of the Race for the Countdown prize including, but not limited to, all transportation costs, lodging, meals gratuities and souvenirs, are the sole responsibility of the winner. Prize winners will receive a tax Form 1099-M and will be required to sign an affidavit of eligibility and a liability release within ten (10) days of notification. In the event of non-compliance, the prize will not be awarded. Neither organizers nor sponsors nor National Hot Rod Association nor The Coca-Cola Company are responsible for any damages or injury incurred by an NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series Fantasy League entrant as a result of winning.
Top Dawg Prizes (based on best scores each week):
• 1st Prize – NHRA t-shirt + hat, $20 Checker Schuck’s Kragen Murray's gift card
• 2nd Prize – NHRA t-shirt + hat
• 3rd Prize – NHRA t-shirt
Quarterly Championship Prizes: At the end of each of the first three quarterly games, the top three players who have accumulated the most points during that period will receive:
• 1st Place – Championship race jacket, NHRA t-shirt + hat, $60 Checker Schuck’s Kragen Murray's gift card.
• 2nd Place - Championship sweatshirt, NHRA t-shirt + hat, $40 Checker Schuck’s Kragen Murray's gift card.
• 3rd Place - Championship golf shirt, NHRA t-shirt + hat, $20 Checker Schuck’s Kragen Murray's gift card.
Race for the Countdown Championship Prizes: At the end of the Fourth Quarter Race for the Countdown game, for players who have registered a top ten score for any of the first 18 national event weekends, the top three players who have accumulated the most points during the final 6-week game period will receive:
• 1st Place Prize – Four (4) reserved tickets to the 2009 NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series race of the winners choice, NHRA Championship leather jacket + t-shirt + hat, $500 cash (or equivalent) and a $250 Checker Schuck’s Kragen Murray's gift card.
• 2nd Place Prize – NHRA Championship race jacket + t-shirt + hat and a $150 Checker Schuck’s Kragen Murray's gift card.
• 3rd Place Prize – NHRA Championship sweatshirt, and a $50 Checker Schuck’s Kragen Murray's gift card.
The Commissioner's Office: An official standards and practices committee called The Commissioner's Office has been established to govern the rules and play of the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series Fantasy League. You may address any questions, discrepancies, concerns or suggestions via email to commish@cskmotorsports.com or via postal mail to NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series Fantasy League, c/o CSK Auto, Inc., 645 E. Missouri, Suite 400, Phoenix, Arizona 85012. The Commissioner's Office reserves the right to adjust any rule if such an adjustment best serves all competitors. The Commissioner's Office also reserves the right to disqualify or refuse service to anyone if there is any evidence of tampering or manipulation.
Additional Rules and Regulations:
Errors: In the event that you believe The Commissioner's Office has made an error, it is the sole responsibility of you, the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series Fantasy League participant, to inform The Commissioner's Office within seven days of the end of the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series Fantasy League race week in which you believe the error occurred. All efforts will be made to correct the error; however the decision of The Commissioner's Office is final.
Publicity: CSK Auto, Inc. reserves the right to use NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series Fantasy League entrant's names for publicity. Winners automatically grant to CSK Auto, Inc. the right to use their name and likeness in advertising and promotion of this event without further permission or compensation unless prohibited by law.
Schedule Changes: CSK Auto, Inc. will not be responsible for Acts of God, acts of terrorism, civil disturbances, work stoppage or any other natural disaster outside their control, that may cause the cancellation of any NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series national event. For any reason and without notice, CSK Auto, Inc. reserves the right to cancel the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series Fantasy League without compensation.
Gambling: The NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series Fantasy League may not be used for any form of gambling.
General: By entering the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series Fantasy League, you (1) acknowledge acceptance of these rules and agree to adhere to and be bound by them, and (2) release, and waive any rights of recovery against or in connection with CSK Auto, Inc., National Hot Rod Association, and The Coca-Cola Company and their respective sponsors, contractors, agents, officers, and employees from and against any claims, expenses, damages and/or liability incurred by you in connection with or related to the operation of, or your participation in the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series Fantasy League, and (3) agree to hold CSK Auto, Inc., National Hot Rod Association, and The Coca-Cola Company harmless from all typographical, statistical, transaction, and communication errors or omissions, and CSK Auto, Inc. reserves the right to disqualify any participant for suspected cheating or non-adherence to these Official Rules.
Additional Legal Disclaimers: The NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series Fantasy League is open to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia and Canada; players must be 18 years of age or older (if the age of a majority in a jurisdiction is different than 18, you must be of the age of majority within your jurisdiction to be eligible to receive a prize) with a valid internet e-mail address as of February 8, 2008. Void where prohibited or restricted by law. Those excluded based on residence criteria may play, but WILL NOT be eligible to receive any prizes and/or be designated the winner of any round, quarter or championship. By entering, each entrant accepts and agrees to be bound by these rules and by the decision of the judges which shall be final and binding in all respects. Any and all federal, state, and local taxes in connection with the prizes are the sole responsibility of the prize winners. No substitution or transfer of prizes permitted except by CSK Auto, Inc.. CSK Auto, Inc. reserves the right to substitute a prize for one of equal or greater value in the event that an advertised prize is unavailable. All prize winners may be required to submit valid identification to CSK Auto, Inc. and to execute an affidavit of eligibility and a liability/publicity release within ten (10) days following attempted notification. Failure to comply within this time period may result in disqualification and awarding of the prize to the entrant with the next highest score.
All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. CSK Auto, Inc. is not responsible for lost, late or misdirected online entries, for incorrect, inaccurate or incomplete entry information whether caused by a contestant, equipment, or technical malfunction or for any human error, technical error or malfunctions. CSK Auto, Inc. reserves the right to halt the Game at any time during the contest period for any reason. In the event that a scheduled race is canceled or preempted for any reason, no points will be awarded for that week for drivers on the affected teams.
CSK Auto, Inc. is not responsible for typographical or other human or technical errors in the offer or administration of this Game, including but not limited to errors in advertising, the Official Rules, the selection and announcement of the winner or the distribution of the prizes. CSK Auto, Inc. reserves the right to modify these rules for clarification purposes without materially affecting the terms and conditions of the Game. If any modification to the rules occurs, registered participants will be notified via e-mail to the e-mail address on record at the time of notification. If for any reason the Internet portion of the program is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of CSK Auto, Inc. which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this Game, CSK Auto, Inc. reserves the right at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, and to cancel, terminate, or suspend the Game. In such event, CSK Auto, Inc. further reserves the right to award the Grand Prize to the player with the most points, as of the termination date.
CSK Auto, Inc. assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries. CSK Auto, Inc. is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any email or entry to be received on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any Web site, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to participant's or any other person's computer related to or resulting from participation or downloading any materials in this Game. CSK Auto, Inc. is solely responsible for all aspects of this game, and National Hot Rod Association and/or The Coca-Cola Company have no responsibility whatsoever.
CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY A CONTESTANT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEB SITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE GAME IS IN VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, CSK AUTO, INC. RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH CONTESTANT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
In the event of a dispute, entries will be declared made by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at time of entry. "Authorized account holder" is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, online service provider or other organization (e.g., business, educational, institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address.
CSK Auto, Inc. reserves the right to halt, modify, or suspend the Game at any time due to situations beyond the control of sponsors such as strikes, acts of God, etc. In the event that the Game is challenged by any legal or regulatory authority, CSK Auto, Inc. reserves the right to discontinue or modify the Game, or to disqualify participants residing in the affected geographic areas. In such event, CSK Auto, Inc. shall have no liability to any players who are disqualified due to such an action. CSK Auto, Inc. is solely responsible for all aspects of this game, and National Hot Rod Association and/or The Coca-Cola Company have no responsibility whatsoever.
Disclaimer of Warranties: You expressly understand and agree that: Your use of the service is at your sole risk. The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. CSK Auto, Inc. expressly disclaims all warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including, but not limited to, the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Limitation of Liability: You expressly understand and agree that CSK Auto, Inc. is solely responsible for all aspects of this game, and National Hot Rod Association and/or The Coca-Cola Company have no responsibility whatsoever, and that CSK Auto, Inc. shall not be liable to you for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary damages, including but no limited to, damages for loss of profits, goodwill, use, data or other intangible losses (even if CSK Auto, Inc. has been advised of the possibility of such damages), resulting from: (i) the use of the inability to use the service; (ii) unauthorized access to or alteration of your transmissions of data; (iii) statements of conduct of any third party on the service; or (iv) any other matter relating to the certain warranties of the limitation of exclusion of liability for incidental of consequential damages.
